Founder and Head Coach
Mr. Attila Nyiri has played at every level of the game of soccer in Europe and North America.
Since 1999 Mr. Nyiri has focused his attention on teaching the game to children “discarded” or found “not to meet the standards” of the better, elite and premier teams. It is these players that Mr. Nyiri develops into elite, premier and State ODP players.
Mr. Nyiri holds a USSF B license, and the Spanish Coaching Certificate from the Escuela Municipal de Futbol de Santander issued by Maestro Laureano Ruiz and has coached in the Hudson Valley since 1999. He has coached both EHYSL ODP (select) programs and was New York State Olympic Development Head Coach from 2004 to 2007. Mr. Nyiri has successfully placed players in the Region I pool of the ODP program. Mr. Nyiri also created the Woman’s Soccer Program at Ulster County Community College in 2006.
Mr. Attila Kun played professionally in the Romanian first division, where he played over 260 games. Mr. Kun has also played 7 times for the Under-23 Romanian National team where he scored 2 goals. After this Mr. Kun made his debut for the Romanian men’s national team in 1972 against Morocco where he debuted with a goal. Between 1972-1976 Mr. Kun made 20 appearances for the national team and scored 4 goals.
As a player he also played in the UEFA Cup 1971-1972 where in 8 matches he scored 3 goals and again in 1972-73 for only two games.
As a coach Mr. Kun is a holder of the UEFA PRO license and has been a coach and youth program director for several German clubs. His teams have won the German Championship 8 times and currently Mr. Kun is the youth soccer director at FC SINGEN04 a sister club to the Laureano Ruiz Soccer Association. Currently two of our LRSA players are at the Singen football club. Mr. Kun will actively participate in our summer camps as a coach and adviser.
Coach Frank Lapietra has been coaching soccer for over 10 years. His experience with young players is vast and encompassing. Coach Lapietra has been coaching with Coach Nyiri for over 5 years and has travelled with coach Nyiri to Santander where he received first hand certification from the Maestro of Futbol, Coach Laureano Ruiz himself. In addition coach LaPietra holds a USSF “F” license.
Coach Viggiano is currently in his sixth year as the head coach of The Marist Red Foxes NCAA Division I school playing in the MAAC division. Coach Matt and coach Attila have a longstanding cooperation in developing and recruiting players for that coveted next level.
Coach Viggiano will become Head of Coaching for the U-14 to HS age groups and Coach Attila will coordinate the U-8 to U 13 age groups while remaining the Director Of Coaching for the association.
Coach Giorgio Baravalle is a former product of Juventus of Italy. He has played and figured prominently in the youth system of this important Italian Club. Coach Giorgio is an active Goalkeeper Inter Rhinebeck O-40 soccer team, and Poughkeepsie FC O-40 indoor Soccer, and Head coach at the academy. He has coached with Coach Nyiri for over 4 years and also obtained the LRSA Coaching Certification.
Coach Butch Cimorelli was amongst the first players from Hyde Park to play in Belgium. Coach Cimorelli through his early playing career has learned, understood and held on to the European soccer values which he brings as a coach to LRSA. Coach Cimorelli has coached at Hyde Park SC where he coached in the developmental league as well as the HS age boys division. He has been coaching side by side with coach Nyiri at the academy to learn and master the academy methods and put them to use at the LRSA academy. Coach Cimorelli holds the USSF F license and the LRSA Coaching Certification.
At present, Mr. Gabel is an active player on Poughkeepsie FC O-30 team, Inter Rhinebeck O-40 soccer team, and Poughkeepsie FC O-40 indoor Soccer team at the Net in Lagrange, NY. Tom began playing Goalkeeper as a back-up for Poughkeepsie FC and continue to play as both a starting left fullback and Back-up and Starting Goalkeeper on all 3 of the above mentioned soccer teams, with over 20 years of goalkeeping experience. In 2013 Tom became a Certified Goalkeeping Level 1 and Level 2 Trainer through the National Soccer Coaches Association of America. He is a New York State Certified General Topics Instructor as well as a New York State Certified Instructor Evaluator.
George and Amy Corso
Corso, an athletic conditioning studio in Salt Point, NY, is owned by George and Amy Corso, they are the exclusive strength and conditioning coaches for Laureano Ruiz Soccer Association. Both George and Amy are certified personal trainers through the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA), as well as Certified Kettlebell Coach’s through the World Kettlebell Club, (WKC). George is also a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist with the NSCA, and over the last 12 years, has been a successful varsity track and field coach, aiding athletes to reach district and state championships. Corso studio was founded on the belief of moving the body as a unit. Body weight, speed and agility training are implemented by safely utilizing kettlebells, ropes, sledgehammers and tires to accomplish sports specific improvements for each client.
Doris G. Kossover
Diet and Nutrition
Doris G. Kossover (M.S., R.D., C.D.N.) is a Registered Dietitian with the American Dietetic Association and is a Certified Dietitian Nutritionist in New York State. Doris is a graduate of Teachers College, Columbia University where she obtained her Masters of Science degree in Nutrition and Exercise Physiology.
Doris has helped develop corporate educational literature to assist employees in improving their nutrition and fitness levels. She has an extensive clinical nutrition back round, and has served as a full-time clinical dietitian at Good Samaritan Hospital, Suffern, NY. Doris is currently employed by Fresenius Medical Care where she counsels patients on dialysis and their families about diet and ways to improve health outcomes.
